A restricted market in which many offer themselves for the registration of the body, regardless of the fair value to be received, undermines the maintenance of the lifemodel´s profession. Professionals who update themselves, study the body, who constantly increase the content to be exposured with their bodies in artistic works, are not satisfied with symbolic payments or, if they do, there are almost always external reasons that lead to this. For example, large numbers of sessions with symbolic payments lead to some financial or personal retribution; philanthropic context; friendship; predetermined low budget in the institutions / places that hire lifemodel´s services; impossibility to fight for better payments, due to the great offer of lay people in the market or the poor quality of the service offered.
